Text service for Deaf People and Speech Impaired People.  

For those who cannot use a voice telephone.     

Step 1

In a new text message enter details about the problem and location.

Step 2

Choose to send the message.

Step 3

Send the message to 65999.

Step 4

The message is then sent to Police Control, who deals with the request on behalf of the emergency services.

Step 5

Police Control reply with confirmation of receiving the message.  They may ask more questions.     

 

What is an emergency?

When  Life is at risk

Crime is happening now

Someone is injured or threatened

Person committing crime is near

There is a fire or people are trapped

You need an ambulance urgently

Someone is in trouble at sea

 

For non emergencies you can still text them on 07786 208090

 

When texting the Emergency Controller, REMEMBER:

Which? Need Police/Fire Rescue/Ambulance/Coastguard
