Our day out to London Dungeons!

(The following was written by one of our Deaf Youth Group Users)

My name is Katy and I love to attend the deaf youth club that Tracy, organises. This is where anyone who is deaf and under 21 can attend doing different activities and meet other deaf people.

I was so excited when we got invited to go to London Dungeon and it was brilliant! So on that day, my sister Rosie and I went to Polegate station and met the group there.  There were 14 of us including Tracy and Marie.  It was a great journey to London because we got to sign to each other on the way and never got bored!  We made sure everyone was involved and then we arrived in London.

We had to queue up for a bit but time flew by fast and soon enough we were inside the haunting place! Some bit’s were so scary, like when we got on the lift ride and it went up and up until you could see the hanging ropes in front of you as if you’re going to be hanged!  Then we flew down suddenly and laughed at each other’s faces in the photos up on the screen outside the ride room. That was very funny!

The mirror room was also scary. You went through a corridor and then into this room full of mirrors which looked like other corridors. We all kept trying to go straight through them because we kept thinking there were people there as well but it was only ourselves in the mirrors. I felt like there was no escape and what we would do if there really was no way out?!

I was relieved when we got out of there but I wondered later what on earth possessed me to be so scared like that!

Some bits of the dungeons weren’t so scary, for example when people dressed up to jump out and scare you; it was more funny than frightening!

We went to the gift shop afterwards and I bought a swishy eyeball thing. Then for lunch we went to McDonalds and had some chips and a burger.

That was a brilliant day and I’ll never forget it!
