Interpreting Service
Contracts with Social Services and Health Authorities are sought
each year to enable Deaf people to use interpreters for appointments etc. We continually
strive to convince Authorities and Service Providers of the importance of Deaf people
accessing full information through interpreters.
Advocacy Service for East Sussex
The Sussex Deaf Association offers an Advocacy service
to support service users needs. The main aims of the service are "Empowerment" "Respect"
"Confidentiality" "Equality" "Communication"

Volunteer & Befriending Service for East Sussex
The Volunteer & Befriending service
is available for Deaf people needing companionship and support. The purpose of this
service is to relieve isolation and include Deaf people in their local community
activities.
Darby and Joan Clubs
Brighton Darby and Joan Club is open on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday
of every month between 11am - 4:00pm at Brighton Deaf Centre, Carlton Hill, Brighton.
Worthing
Deaf OAP Friendship Club (Darby and Joan Club) is open on the 1st & 3rd Thursday
of every month between 12.00pm - 4.00pm at 291 Tarring Road, Worthing
Hastings Wednesday
Club meets on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month between 2pm - 4.30pm at The
British Red Cross Centre, Thalia House London Road, Bexhill on sea East Sussex, TN39

Hastings Youth Activity Club
The group is open to Deaf people aged 11 - 17. The aim
of the group is to take part in a wide range of enjoyable activities. Communication

Brighton Activity Group
Brighton Activity Group is open on the 2nd & 4th Thursday
of every month between 2pm - 4pm. Various activities include Art, Cookery, Darts,
Snooker, Billiards, Short Mat bowls and board games
